We need someone to volunteer for the role of Secretary to the Southern
Beaches Conservation Society. This role involves taking minutes at the
meetings - held roughly every month at the moment but this will reduce
considerably once the Dump campaign is finished. But it could be a role
you could make your own and really help to push the campaign forward -
and of course make a whole new circle of wonderful friends!
2. Federal Minister
for Regional Development, Simon Crean will now have received SWS'
application for financial funding to construct the C Cell. We need LOTS of people to write letters to him asking that he does not provide any funding and giving the many reasons why. If SWS secure this funding then it is unlikely we will be able to stop the C Cell given that they already have the permit to build it and now just need the money.
We've been advised that multiple letters exactly the same do not have the same persuasive ability as personalised ones. However, if you are too busy to write your own - please just add your name and address to mine and sign and send that - personal letters are best but not if they don't get sent!
