A succesful community meeting held at the Forcett Hall Wed 7th November
Dump the Toxic Dump Volunteers with MP Andrew Wilkie |
"The real cost of dumping is not borne by the producer of the waste or the disposer, but by the people whose health and property values are destroyed when the wastes migrate onto their property and by the taxpayers who pay to clean it up......It is better for the liners to leak sooner than later, because then there will be responsible parties that they can get to clean it up. Liners don't protect communities. They protect the people who put the waste there and the politicians who let them put the waste there, because they are long since gone when the problem comes up." William Sanjour EPA(USA) Hazardous-waste expert.
